The KYBELLA Experience From a Client’s Perspective

Meet Leah. Leah is 32 years old. Her lower face and chin area have always been problem areas. No matter how healthy and clean she eats, how active she’s been or how much weight she’s lost, her double chin has always refused to go away.

Leah isn’t interested in a skin tightening treatment such as Ultherapy, as she hasn’t lost any elasticity in her skin. Instead she wanted to find a treatment that specifically targets the fat responsible for causing her dreadful double chin and lose it once and for all.

KYBELLA is an FDA-approved injectable treatment that destroys fat cells beneath the chin. The injection contains a naturally occurring molecule that eats away at fat. Once destroyed, the fat cells can no longer store or accumulate fat. When injected properly, all other cells are left healthy and intact.

After her complimentary consultation at SkinSpirit Palo Alto, Leah decided to book her first KYBELLA treatment in hopes of finally diminishing her problem area. Many clients can see full results from KYBELLA within two to four treatments. Each treatment session is typically 15 to 20 minutes. There’s no downtime and no re-treatment necessary after a client’s desired results have been achieved.

A Q&A with SkinSpirit KYBELLA Client in Palo Alto

So what was Leah’s experience with KYBELLA like?

“Since my initial consultation, I’ve had two KYBELLA treatments within a month of each other. I love my results so far! It’s hard to tell how much progress has been made just by looking in the mirror each day, but when I compare what I look like now to my “before” photos taken right before my first treatment, I can see a huge difference. The treatment itself wasn’t nearly as uncomfortable as I thought it would be. The initial numbing injections didn’t hurt at all, just a little prick after some icing on the treated area first. During the actual treatment, I hardly felt any pain. I did feel a lot of pressure. As the numbing wore off towards the end of the treatment, it did get a bit uncomfortable, but it wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle. After the treatment, I felt a burning sensation on my skin, similar to what it feels like when getting a chemical peel. This sensation lasted between 2 to 4 hours. The after care consisting of icing, and a head strap really helped with any of the discomfort I felt after the treatment. The day after receiving treatment, the discomfort seemed to disappear. I was swollen and a little tender in the treated area for the next few weeks, but I wasn’t in any pain.”

Does Leah think KYBELLA is a treatment worth having?

“Absolutely! Yes I do! KYBELLA is great for people who don’t want to deal with surgery and who can’t afford any downtime. I went right back to work after both of my treatments. I’ve been recommending this treatment to my own family and friends. If someone I know is on the fence about getting the treatment, I just show them my before and after photos and let them speak for themselves. KYBELLA is a great treatment for getting rid of the annoying double chin area. It’s definitely worth the time to get the amazing results I’ve gotten so far. I’d say I’m about one or two treatments away from getting rid of my double chin all together. I’m so excited!”
