Types of Filler

As we age, our skin loses its youthful appearance as facial volume diminishes. Dermal fillers are a safe and effective way to reverse the loss of facial volume because they bring back fullness and smooth out wrinkles. The main difference with the dermal fillers offered at SkinSpirit is the areas of the face they treat.

Most of the dermal fillers available at SkinSpirit are hyaluronic acid-based. Hyaluronic Acid occurs naturally in the body, dissolves naturally over time and doesn’t require an allergy test prior to treatment.

Here’s a complete list of dermal filler treatment areas along with the filler(s) best suited for each treatment area:

Cheek Area
Juvéderm Voluma™ XC is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that is FDA-approved to correct age-related volume loss in the cheek area for people over 21 years of age. This filler adds volume to the treatment area, creating contour and lift for up to two years

Chin Wrinkles
Sculptra® Aesthetic is suitable for correcting wrinkles in the chin area. This dermal filler is made from injectable poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible, biodegradable synthetic material. It replaces lost collagen, leaving behind subtle results over time, lasting more than two years.

Lip Rejuvenation
Restylane® is a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler. These fillers are the only products FDA approved for lip enhancement in people over 21 and are uniquely formulated to maintain lip fullness and definition for up to six months.

Parentheses (Smile) Lines
Parentheses lines, also known as “smile lines” or “nasolabial folds” are the deep folds between the nose and the mouth. At SkinSpirit, we offer several different hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers that treat this specific area including Juvéderm XC and Restylane®. Sculptra® Aesthetic is also used to treat this area. Depending on the type of filler used, results can last anywhere from six months up to two years.

Oral Commissures
Oral Commissures are considered to be the lines framing the mouth, also known as “marionette lines.” Juvéderm XC is the best type of dermal filler used at SkinSpirit to treat this area.

Vertical Lip Lines
Vertical lip lines, also known as “smoker’s lines” or “perioral lines” are the lines that form on the upper lip. Juvéderm XC is your best option for treating these lip lines.
